Everton season ticket prices have been revealed for the 25/26 season and fans have every right to feel aggrieved.

Everton are severely underperforming this season and while an impending takeover looks set to revitalise the club, it would seem ludicrous for season ticket prices to increase drastically… or not.

The prices revealed by the club [29 November] show a £85 increase on the cheapest adult ticket available, which is situated in the family stand of their new stadium. Otherwise, the cheapest adult ticket available is priced at £730 with the average cost coming in at £775.

To put that into context, it works out costing a supporter an average of £40.78 per game, which with various things considered, is an astounding cost.

The ticket pricing sees a 15.3 per cent increase on the cheapest available.

The Friedkins must deliver at Everton to warrant price increase

Quite simply, if fortunes do not change at Everton under the pending new ownership, fans will have every right to feel aggrieved at the extra money they are required to come up with to support their team.

For several seasons now, Everton have been far away from the standards you would expect from them and if supporters are going to fork out a small fortune, they need to see improvements quickly.

That starts with ambition. Once the takeover is ratified, TFG must showcase their true ambitions from the off so that supporters are at least exposed to the reasons behind the increases and believe in the project set out by the new hierarchy.

The Toffees can no longer remain a side battling relegation season after season – things must change.

Everton as a club have been starved of financial injection and that will need to change if fortunes are to improve.
