Liverpool are plotting a big-money move to sign West Ham star Mohammed Kudus amid uncertainty over the future of Mohamed Salah.
This is according to former West Ham scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected at the club and within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the club have started working on identifying replacements for the Egyptian.
Salah ramped up the pressure on Liverpool following the 3-2 victory against Southampton as he revealed he is currently “more out than in” and has not been offered a new deal.
With less than a year remaining on his current deal, the 32-year-old will be available to discuss terms over a pre-contract deal to move abroad at the end of the season.
Kudus has emerged on their list of targets to replace their star man thanks to his performances for West Ham over the last 18 months.
The Hammers’ slow start to the season has led top clubs to keep a close eye on his situation, and there is a belief that he could look to move on if they do not qualify for European football.

Brown previously told Football Insider that Liverpool have already begun working on finding a box-office replacement for the winger.
Now, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment and spent over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted that Kudus is one of the names at the top of their list of targets.
“*Salah would be a major, major miss for Liverpool,*” he told Football Insider.
“But they’ll be working behind the scenes to identify players who could help them replace him.
“It’s not one you can go like-for-like with, because he’s the best in the world in that position. You can’t find a player to do what he does.
“But I have heard they have been looking at Kudus as a potential option.
“He’s one of those players who can light up a stadium when he gets the ball. He likes to run at people, he can score goals and he can create.

“So he’s the type of player they’d be looking to bring in if Salah does leave.
*“But he won’t come cheap, because West Ham won’t want to see him leave the club any time soon unless it’s a deal that is very beneficial to them financially.*“
