Chelsea plotting a swap deal to sign their target on discount

Chelsea are interested to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi

The Blues are planning to send one of their players the other way

This will help the club to sign Guehi on discounted price

Chelsea will enter the transfer window with an aim to improve their defence. They have already made their intentions clear about wanting to sign one or two highly rated defenders.

The Blues are never shy to spend and hence big moves can be expected. Chelsea can also be seen parting ways with some of the current stars. As of now Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile are on the chopping list.

Chelsea have been highly linked with Tomas Araujo. Along with him, TEAMtalk have reported that the Blues are also planning to sign their academy product Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.

Marc Guehi has improved very much since he moved away from Chelsea in 2021. He is now a regular memeber og England national team. The 24 year old impressed very much in Euro 2024 and was linked with many top clubs.

Palace rate their defender very highly. In summer they demanded £90 million for Guehi due to which they were able to keep him at the club. But, the Blues are now planning to sign him on discount by offering one of their players to Palace.

Chelsea planning a swap deal with Crystal Palace

Firstly, Palace are now ready to part ways with Guehi for price lower than £90 million. It is due to the player having just 18 months left in his current contract. Now, Chelsea are planning to decrease the price even further.

The Blues are hoping that Palace will sign Trevoh Chalobah permanently next year. Chalobah is currently on loan at Palace. This will help both clubs to get the deal done smoothly.

Lastly, Guehi is very likely to leave Palace at the end of the season. Palace are on the 19th position in the Premier League and can get relegated to Championship. This may result in them losing a lot of players who will wanto stay at the highest level.
