Chelsea continued their flawless Europa Conference League group phase campaign with a 2-0 win over Heidenheim on Thursday night.
The Blues had cruised to victory in their opening three matches of the competition and, despite their German opponents giving them their toughest test yet, goals from Christopher Nkunku and Mykhaylo Mudryk earned Enzo Maresca’s side another three points.
The win leaves Chelsea top of the table and in pole position to quality for the knockout stages of the tournament.
Domestically, Maresca’s side face Aston Villa on Sunday in an intriguing encounter.
Chelsea go into the match in better form than the Villans, who have picked up just two points from their last four Premier League matches.
In the meantime, it appears that Chelsea are leading the race to sign a highly rated Serie A winger.
As per CaughtOffside, the West London outfit are interested in Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu.
Dorgu has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs including Chelsea
It is claimed that a number of clubs have been impressed by the 20-year-old’s displays for Lecce, who he first joined on loan two years ago before signing permanently last summer.
In total the Dane has played 48 times for Lecce, scoring five goals and registering a single assist.
The report claims that Premier League sides Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace have also been keeping tabs on the youngster, while Italian outfits Juventus and Napoli are also credited with an interest.
It is claimed that, while all of those clubs have asked to be kept up to date with any changes to the player’s situation, Chelsea could be in pole position to sign the Denmark international.
Since their change of ownership in 2022, Chelsea have adopted a policy of signing talented young players from around the world, and Dorgu would likely fit into that mould.
The Dane’s versatility could also appeal, as he is able to operate on either flank and also as a left-back.
Dorgu’s contract with Lecce is set to expire in 2029.
