Leicester City have confirmed the appointment of Ruud van Nistelrooy on a two-and-a-half year contract. The Dutchman comes in to replace Steve Cooper, who was sacked less than a week ago.
Van Nistelrooy arrives after his impressive interim spell in charge of Manchester United. The former Red Devils striker led United to three wins - two against Leicester - and one draw before leaving, following Ruben Amorim's appointment.
He becomes the first Dutchman to manage the football club and the job at the King Power Stadium is only his second head coach role in his career. However, despite the concerns over his lack of experience on the touchline, Van Nistelrooy has had a decade in coaching since retiring.
