Mikel Arteta has given a positive update on Ben White after revealing the Arsenal defender’s surgery went “really well”.
White was forced to undergo surgery earlier this month to solve a knee problem that has been causing him issues.
Arteta confirmed last week that the right-back is now set to be out for months in what is a blow for Arsenal.
White, however, has started his recovery well and Arteta has expressed his optimism at how the first stage of it has gone.
“Still early days,” he said. “The surgery went really well, there is no reaction after that.
“He is improving day by day but it is a process for the first four to six weeks, where we have to be really cautious and don’t put any stress on that knee.
“Then we will see how quickly he can recover and how it reacts after that.”
Jurrien Timber has deputised at right-back in White’s absence, notching an assist for the opening goal against Sporting Lisbon in midweek.
