Alan Shearer has predicted a defeat for Everton when they face Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United side on Sunday.
Everton have a chance to change their fortunes after a disappointing recent run when they travel to Old Trafford on 1 December.
A rejuvenated Man Utd side will be looking for their first home league win under Amorim after their midweek triumph in Europe – one Shearer described as “fortunate” when giving his prediction for the upcoming encounter.
Shearer told The Metro (29 November): ” After the first two minutes of Amorim’s first game you thought ‘here we go’ but it all went a bit flat after two or three minutes and I thought they were fortunate to come away with a point.
“He’s had a few days to work on the system and they’ve played in Europe on Thursday, but I think with the home crowd, Man United will have too much for Everton, although it won’t be easy. It’ll be tough but they may just scrape the three points.”

Sean Dyche could be in trouble at Everton if they lose to Man Utd
Everton have had a dismal season so far and the style of play adopted by Sean Dyche has even made them a miserable watch at times.
The Toffees have won just two of their 12 games in the Premier League and have shown no signs of improving in recent weeks.
Dyche’s sacking seems almost inevitable at this stage but another defeat would surely sway the heads of the new hierarchy, who seem likely to pull the trigger once the pending takeover gets ratified.
Everton have looked devoid of ideas and confidence all season and Dyche doesn’t appear to have the credentials needed to get them back on track.

Even if Everton were to beat Man Utd, they would remain in the same position with the side currently four points behind fellow strugglers West Ham.
However, a defeat could send them into the bottom three depending on other results of teams around them.
In other Everton news, the Toffees have a call to make on striker Armando Broja.
