Julen Lopetegui is clearly desperate to get rid of one West Ham United player in particular.
West Ham brought Julen Lopetegui to the London Stadium to replace David Moyes in the summer, and the Hammers head coach immediately embarked on a huge squad overhaul.
Lopetegui is still said to be a man under pressure, but if he manages to ride out the storm, he will be keen to improve his squad even further still next summer.
However, it will be equally as important for him to move on some of the deadwood, but on permanent deals rather than loans this time.
The Hammers boss managed to shift many of the underperforming players in the summer just gone, but the vast majority of them only left on loan deals.
West Ham haven’t got an endless pot of money, so clearing some of the wage-bill will be crucial over the next two transfer windows.

There undoubtedly will be even more change at the London Stadium over the course of the next two transfer windows.
And it seems almost certain that one player in particular has been deemed as surplus to requirements at West Ham.

MORE WEST HAM STORIES
According to a report from The Athletic, West Ham are pushing hard to sell Maxwel Cornet.
I say good luck with that!
Signed from Burnley for £17 million in the summer of 2022, Cornet endured a nightmare two years at the London Stadium, before leaving us to join Southampton in the summer.
He has hardly enjoyed his spell with the Saints either.
Cornet has made just four appearances for Southampton this season for a total of 187 minutes of football.
I’m not quite sure what has happened to him since he left Burnley, but he’s clearly not the player he once was.
If Julen Lopetegui manages to get any kind of decent fee for West Ham winger Maxwel Cornet, I will be hugely surprised.
