Manchester United told by Arsenal legend they have a midfielder who is even better than Roy Keane was

Manchester United are going through a transitional period which has now seen yet another new manager taking to the dugout at Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim has now been tasked with the job of pulling Man United back into the European spots following a dismal start to the campaign.

The Portuguese boss has now gotten his first victory as the United manager on the board following their win in the Europa League on Thursday.

But the big focus will remain on Sunday’s game at Old Trafford following United’s draw in Amorim’s first game against Ipswich Town.

The arrival of a new manager can often see the starting XI shaken up with Man United fans hailing Noussair Mazraoui against Bodo/Glimt.

And the Red Devils have now been told they currently have a midfielder in their ranks who is even better than Roy Keane was.

Gilberto Silva hails Man United’s Casemiro better than Roy Keane

Speaking to GOAL, the former Arsenal player Gilberto Silva has admitted he rates Casemiro higher than the United legend Roy Keane.

Here are just some of the players who Gilberto rated Casemiro higher than:

Claude Makelele

Gennaro Gattuso

Roy Keane

Since arriving at Old Trafford, Casemiro has come under a lot of criticism for his performances in a United shirt.

There have even been suggestions that United could sell Casemiro in January for a fraction of the price which they bought him for.

Yet, Gilberto has the former Real Madrid midfielder ranked higher than the United legend despite Patrick Vieira hailing Keane as his toughest opponent.

Roy Keane has called for Casemiro position change at Man United

It has been a real struggle for Casemiro in a United shirt with the Brazilian looking a shell of the player who signed from Madrid.

It has not taken his new manager long to vent his frustrations with Amorim spotted annoyed with Casemiro during the draw against Ipswich.

With criticism coming the midfielder’s way, Keane has – not so long ago – suggested a position change to higher up the pitch could benefit him.

“I wouldn’t be writing him off yet,” Keane said on the Stick to Football podcast in September.

“His role in the team, if he gets back in and a couple of games under his belt, might be a bit higher up the pitch.”

Casemiro received interest from Turkey over the summer, so it will be interesting to see whether that follows up in the winter market.
