Mikel Arteta praises ‘beautiful’ Liverpool v Man City fixture but ‘preference’ is for Arsenal to win
Arteta, speaking to the Arsenal media team on Friday, said he’d “one hundred percent” be watching the game.
He praised both Liverpool and Man City, describing them as “two of the best teams in Europe” set to take part in a “beautiful” match.
Arteta said, when asked whether he’d be watching the game, “One hundred percent.
“It’s a big match, beautiful match to watch, two of the best teams in Europe facing each other and competition for us, it’s a big one.”
However, when asked who he ‘wants to win’ on the subject of the game on Merseyside, Arteta provided a third option.
“Yes, Arsenal tomorrow, that’s the preference,” he said. “Then we will see. It’s something we cannot control.”

Interesting stats ahead of Liverpool v Man City
The pressure will be well and truly be on Man City on Sunday as they risk going 11 points behind Liverpool in the title race.
As per BBC Sport, only three times have teams come from 11 or more points behind at any point to win the Premier League title in 32 seasons.
And it’s not a good omen for City if they do lose, as they have never managed to win the title after being behind by more than 10 points.
There has only been one instance where a team had an 11-point lead after just 13 games.
This was Manchester United in the 1993-94 season – and they went on to win the title.
Martin Keown has predicted that Man City will get out of their current rut – but closing such a big gap on the Reds has already become a difficult task.
