“I don’t think it is a reflection on the strength that they have and how they play. Selhurst Park is always a difficult ground to go to. I look back at their win against Tottenham and I thought they played really well.
“I think their recent results have seen a upturn in performances, they’ve been more competitive. They’ll always be competitive, that’s the nature of the club they are.
“We know there going it’ll be a tough game but we back ourselves always, at our best.”
Newcastle welcome back Dan Burn from his one-match suspension while Bruno Guimaraes and Joe Willock have been passed fit despite coming off with injuries in the last game.
