Virgil van Dijk and a number of his Liverpool teammates have rallied around Ibrahima Konate with messages of support after the French defender confirmed his injury absence. The setback came after Konate limped off after the final whistle in the clash against Real Madrid on Wednesday, having collided with Endrick in the dying moments of the game.
His knee injury, which left him visibly in pain as he headed to the changing room, was described by Arne Slot as "not a good sign" with the looming Manchester City game on Sunday.
Konate himself took to Instagram to share his disappointment and determination, stating: "So frustrating to pick up this injury right at the end of a great game on Wednesday night. Now we start the recovery process but one thing I promise is I will come back and be the best I can be once again."

Arne Slot has already confirmed that 'outstanding' star will lose his place in Liverpool's team
He also expressed gratitude for the Anfield crowd's support, adding: "Thank you for the amazing support at Anfield. Inshallah we will keep going and I will support the team every step of the way."
Reds skipper Van Dijk showed his support with a heart and strong-arm emoji, while Conor Bradley, Ryan Gravenberch, Cody Gakpo, and Luis Diaz sent hearts.
Bradley is also nursing an injury, having left the pitch with a hamstring issue minutes before the end of the Real match. While Slot couldn't give much detail on Thursday regarding Bradley's condition, he did confirm that Trent Alexander-Arnold is ready to start on Sunday.
Having missed the victories against Southampton and Real due to a hamstring issue before the international break, he's been sidelined. In his absence, Liverpool have options like Joe Gomez and Jarrel Quansah to fill in for Konate.
