Ruud van Nistelrooy should be looking to his former club to strengthen Manchester United in January.
Leicester City announced Ruud van Nistelrooy as manager on Friday evening, less than a week after Steve Cooper was let go.
The Dutchman is going to be watching on from the stands on Saturday afternoon when the Foxes travel down south for a meeting with Brentford.
Van Nistelrooy’s first game as Leicester manager will take place early next week when he prepares his new team to host West Ham United at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday, December 3rd.
While game preparation is the focus at present, the Dutchman’s attention is surely going to turn toward the transfer market very soon.
Van Nistelrooy’s transfer demands to Leicester have already been laid out and he could now look to his former side, Manchester United, to reinforce the Midlands outfit.
The 48-year-old re-joined the Red Devils as a coach earlier this year and we have picked out three players who he can now poach from Man Utd for Leicester.

Three Manchester United ‘wonderkids’ Ruud van Nistelrooy can sign for Leicester City
Jayce Fitzgerald
When Erik ten Hag was sacked, Van Nistelrooy took charge of four games as interim manager of Manchester United.

Though only in charge for a short period, the former hitman was quick to hand some of Man Utd’s best academy players a chance.
One of which was Jayce Fitzgerald, who was promoted to the senior team by Van Nistelrooy and was on the bench for the 5-2 Carabo Cup win over Leicester.
Fitzgerald is a central midfielder with six goals and three assists in 35 U18 Premier League appearances.
He is also an England U17 international, making his debut in September 2023 and notching a further three appearances since.
Harry Amass
Like Fitzgerald, Harry Amass earned some much-welcomed experience with the senior team under Ruud.
The 17-year-old was on the bench against Leicester in the cup and for the 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the Premier League.
Amass is a natural left-back with an attacking mindset, already scoring one and assisting three in 18 matches at U18 level.
James Justin is struggling at Leicester this season, with it clear full-back options are needed in January.
Granted, Amass is probably not ready for regular top-flight football just yet, but he would be an excellent rotation option to have.

Ethan Wheatley
Ethan Wheatley is one of the fastest-rising stars in Manchester United’s academy right now.
The striker has five goals in six Premier League 2 appearances this term and his only senior minutes were given to him by Van Nistelrooy – coming off the bench for five minutes against Leicester in the cup.
The Foxes are really lacking quality number nine options right now after summer addition Odsonne Edouard struggled under Cooper.
The Crystal Palace loanee is yet to score a league goal in 2024/25 but Wheatley would give Leicester an excellent option off the bench, while the player himself would get a masterclass in finishing from Jamie Vardy.
