Midfield enforcer Casemiro has said all of Manchester United's players are 'excited' by the recent appointment of Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.

The 39-year-old, who was appointed from Sporting Lisbon earlier this month, oversaw his first victory as United head coach on Thursday night, leading his side to a 3-2 win over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.

After seeing Alejandro Garnacho's first-minute opener wiped out, United recovered from 2-1 down to clinch their second Europa League win of the campaign.

Although United's performance was by no means perfect, their second half showing offered encouragement that Amorim is beginning to get his ideas across to his players. The Portuguese chief has made it his first mission to give United an identity again.

And according to Casemiro, who was a second half substitute on Thursday evening, United's players are excited by Amorim's appointment, insisting they have quickly discovered what the former Sporting Lisbon chief expects of them.

"He's a young manager, he's 39 and some players are still playing at that age, so he's young," said Casemiro. "I'm not the only one who's excited, all the players are.

"Every time someone arrives, the dynamic changes. We haven't worked with him much yet, but what we've seen from him is the intensity, the joy and the enjoyment of the ball and football."

Amorim displayed a willingness to change United's shape in the second half against Bodo/Glimt and Casemiro insists tactics are a key part of Portuguese coach's plans.

He added: "Tactics have always been an aspect of the game that I like a lot. With him [Amorim], you can see that there is a lot of tactics.

"I think that is part of the philosophy of the Portuguese coaches, who talk a lot about tactics, heart and fun on the pitch."
