Stan Collymore has made his prediction ahead of Sunday’s clash between Chelsea and Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea host domestic rivals Villa this weekend in the Premier League. If Villa win, they’ll move level on points with the Blues.
The Blues could be as high as second spot in the division by the end of the weekend if results go their way, so it’s a great opportunity to continue their recent momentum.
Joe Cole thinks Chelsea may challenge for the Premier League title, but they’ve got to make sure they’re within a six-point margin of leaders Liverpool by the New Year. At this moment in time, they’re nine points behind the Merseyside giants.

Stan Collmore predicts Chelsea vs Aston Villa
Villa fan Stan Collymore thinks Chelsea are going to record a narrow win over his side tomorrow, but he’s raised an interesting statistic about the Blues.
Interestingly, Enzo Maresca’s side are the worst in the Premier League when it comes to playing at home, collecting only 41 per cent of their points tally at Stamford Bridge this season.
“If you’re a Villa fan travelling down Sunday like myself you might look at the fact that Chelsea have the lowest ratio of home Premier League wins, which is 41 per cent, but Villa are winless in their last four in the Premier League” Collymore told talkSPORT (2:58pm, 29 November).
“A little bit better against Juventus in midweek. We employed a bit more of a lower block, so there might be a little bit more to have to get in behind.

“But Chelsea 2-1 Aston Villa is my prediction. It hurts.”
Elsewhere, Alan Shearer agrees Chelsea will beat Villa in their upcoming league meeting.
There’s not a great deal to split the English giants when you compare their all time head-to-head record:

Chelsea struggle at home
Like Collymore mentions above, Chelsea’s home record at the Bridge so far this season has been a real weakness. In fact, they’ve got the lowest percentage of points won at home across all 20 Premier League clubs with 41 per cent.

Chelsea have been at their very best in the 21st century when they’ve made Stamford Bridge a fortress, so it would be great to get back to that.
They’ve had two wins, three draw and one defeat so far from their six league matches at home. But it’s a great opportunity this weekend versus Villa to impress in front of their own support.
