It has been a difficult season for FC Barcelona when it comes to injury and fitness issues as several players have been missing from action for extended periods.
Hansi Flick had started to recover some players of late, though, but now appears to have been handed a fresh concern.
Indeed, Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde had to be taken off during today’s match against Las Palmas.
The incident happened midway through the first period as the Barça left-back went to the ground following a strong collision with Sandro Ramirez.
The La Masia graduate was in great discomfort, was unable to stand up and even had trouble breathing after the collision.
As such, Balde was stretchered off the pitch amid great concern, with Gerard Martin replacing him on the field.
An update on the left-back’s condition should emerge after the game. Barcelona will be hoping that there is no serious issue with the academy product.
