Leicester City travelled to Brentford for a Premier League meeting on Saturday afternoon.
The Foxes have had a torrid start to the 2024/25 campaign and will have been desperate for a new-manager bounce on Saturday.
Leicester City lost 2-1 to Chelsea in their last outing and had slipped down to 16th in the Premier League table ahead of kick-off at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Brentford, meanwhile, were 11th in the division and looking to end their patchy run of form that had seen them draw two, lose one and win two of their last five league fixtures.
It was a big day for the Foxes, with new manager Ruud van Nistrelrooy appointed by Leicester on Friday evening.
Ben Dawson, not Ruud, took charge of the Midlands side for Saturday’s game, with Van Nistrelrooy set to manage Leicester vs West Ham United next week.

Leicester made a number of interesting changes to their eleven on Saturday, reverting to a back-five and giving Luke Thomas a rare start.
Whether or not their new manager had any influence on the line-up is not known.
But in the build-up to the game, Ruud was spotted with Leicester owner Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha for the first time since he became manager on November 29th.
What Ruud van Nistelrooy thinks about Leicester City players
Prior to watching the game against the Bees, Van Nistelorry’s first message to Leicester was released on Friday.
In it, he gave his first impressions about the current group of Foxes players.
He said: “Of course, if you look at the squad there’s some exciting talent there you know.
“In all lines of play, defence, midfield and attack so of course, the excitement is there. When you have the ball and we create a lot of chances and you go for the win that’s in every game is the goal of course.”
Van Nistelrooy’s view is unlikely to change after the Brentford game but it will be interesting to see if any of the players who started on Saturday are now benched for Tuesday’s meeting with the Hammers.
