Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard has hailed Ethan Nwaneri as an 'unbelievable' talent. Aged just 17, Nwaneri has established himself as one of the best players in his age group.
The youngster has hugely impressed on almost every opportunity that has come his way this season. With Martin Odegaard missing 12 games with an ankle injury, Arteta gave Nwaneri opportunities and the youngster repaid his manager for his faith.
The Arsenal prodigy has started just two League Cup games this season while coming on from the bench on eight occasions in the Premier League and Champions League. He has found the back of the net four times and has caught the eye with his elegance, flair, and technique.
Odegaard has heaped praise on Nwaneri and highlighted how confident the attacking midfielder is at his age. The Norway international said, as quoted by Metro:
"I try to help him, I think that’s the main thing. He deserves all the praise, all the attention and everything he gets now. He’s unbelievable. He scored the other day and it’s not just that, it’s just the way he plays, the way he trains with so much confidence."
Odegaard added:
"You see it every time he comes on the pitch, the fans get excited and he’s so up for it, he’s so ready, he always takes the initiative. He’s not scared. I love to play with him, train with him."
Nwaneri made history on September 18, 2022, when he became the youngest ever to appear in the Premier League at the age of 15 years and 181 days. He has so far made 12 senior appearances for the Gunners, scoring four times.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta fires warning for red-hot Liverpool
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has sent a warning for Liverpool, who have been absolutely on fire this season under Arne Slot. Having undergone a managerial change in the summer, many expected the Reds to struggle this season, which hasn't been the case.
Liverpool find themselves at the top of both the Premier League and the Champions League table. They have lost just once and drawn once in 19 games across competitions this season.
With the Reds leading the Premier League table by eight points over Manchester Ctiy, they are now being touted as favorites for the title by many. However, Mikel Arteta has insisted that it is incredibly difficult to sustain top form for a very long period. The Arsenal manager said, as quoted by @TransferSector:
“We’ve been there and to sustain it for 10 months is extremely difficult, everything has to go your way, and sadly when you think you have it, one day it collapses… it can happen at any moment and we have to be ready for that.”
Liverpool will have the opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the table to 11 points on Sunday (December 1) when they take on Manchester City at Anfield. The Cityzens are on the back of a five-game losing streak followed by a disappointing 3-3 draw against Feyenoord.
