Chelsea will hope to continue their strong run of form when they host Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues have been in fine form of late and cruised to a 2-0 win over German outfit Heidenheim in the Europa Conference League in their last outing.
Enzo Maresca will be thrilled with his side’s start to the campaign, with the Blues currently occupying fourth place in the Premier League table.
Victory over the Villans could take Chelsea as high as second if other results go their way, although they will still be some way behind runaway leaders Liverpool.
Off the pitch, it appears that Chelsea could be set to battle it out with rivals Manchester United for a highly rated winger.
As per CaughtOffside, both the Blues and the Red Devils are interested in Sporting CP’s Geovany Quenda.
The report claims that Man United, who are managed by former Sporting boss Ruben Amorim, are preparing an offer in excess of £60 million for the 17-year-old.
Quenda is a target for both Chelsea and Manchester United
Quenda is a product of Sporting’s youth system and has now played 2o times for the Portuguese side across all competitions, scoring twice and providing the same number of assists.
United head coach Amorim gave the teenager his senior debut and, while he has insisted he will not look to sign players from his former club, the report claims that United are in fact interested in Quenda.
It is claimed that, while United are preparing an offer for the winger, Chelsea are also interested and are looking to beat their Premier League rivals to his signature.
Premier League sides Liverpool, Newcastle United, Arsenal and Manchester City are also all said to be monitoring the player’s development, while he has also attracted interest from European giants Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig and Juventus.
Quenda’s contract with the Lisbon side doesn’t expire until 2027, which suggests the Portuguese side could be in a commanding position if any offers are made.
