Newcastle United were dealt a blow just 21 minutes into their match against Crystal Palace when Alexander Isak had to be substituted due to injury. The severity of the injury is yet to be determined, but it didn't look promising for the Newcastle center-forward as he made his way off the pitch, with Liverpool to come in midweek.
The Swedish international had only managed three touches of the ball before his game was cut short by a tackle from Tyrick Mitchell. Minutes after the clash, Isak was seen holding his hip and struggling to move freely.
Despite receiving treatment and attempting to shake off the injury, Isak eventually signaled to the bench that he needed to be replaced. With Callum Wilson not yet fully fit to play a full 70 minutes, Harvey Barnes was brought on to replace the injured Swede.

Arne Slot has already confirmed that 'outstanding' star will lose his place in Liverpool's team
This resulted in Barnes switching to the right and Anthony Gordon being utilized in the centre. Just as Callum Wilson returns to availability, Eddie Howe may now have to contend with another potential layoff for Isak as the busy December period approaches.
Isak has already missed seven matches this season for both club and country due to a toe injury sustained after being rushed back into action. Last season, groin issues plagued his time at Newcastle, preventing the team from fielding their strongest line-up for an extended period.
Newcastle takes on Liverpool in midweek and the news would be a huge boost for Arne Slot ahead of his side's trip to St. James' Park. The afternoon would get worse for Newcastle, who thought they had grabbed all three points against struggling Palace.
Anthony Gordon's effort was turned into his own net by Marc Guehi and the visitors looked to have held on to the win before a dramatic equalizer from Daniel Munoz.
