Chelsea defender being looked upon by German and Italian clubs

Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile has been very heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge. The player has fallen down the pecking order and number of top clubs are keen to sign him.

Badiashile joined the Blues in January 2023 for £35 million. He was able to put on very impressive performances in his first half season at West London. But, then the 23 year old suffered an injury which kept him out of action for months.

Ever since the injury, Badiashile has not been same. He was only able to play 22 games in his first full season (2023/24) at Chelsea. The player was not able to perform like he did in the starting of his Chelsea career.

This season has been the same as Badiashile has fallen down the pecking order. He has only played 10 games this season despite being full fit. Out of those 10 only 2 are from Premier League and the defender has started only one of it.

Is Benoit Badiashile leaving Chelsea?

The lack of game time has linked the Frenchman with move away from Stamford Bridge. But, the Blues have said earlier that they are unwilling to part ways with Badiashile as they view him important for future.

At the same time, Chelsea are keeping tabs on mang big names and are very likely to improve their defensive line. This will then decrease the chances of Badiashile playing regularly even further.

In addition, the Blues will need to coup up with the PSR rules. Hence, they will need to sell some of their exisiting stars before signing new stars. As of now Colwill and Fofana are safe as they start regularly. This means Badiashile and Disasi are on the chopping list.

Despite Blues unwilling to sell Badiashile, he is being looked upon by many clubs. As per Foot Mercato, the 23 year old defender is being looked upon by many Italian and German clubs who can guarantee him regular game time.

Chelsea will have to let the player leave if he himself wants the move. Badiashile’s future remains uncertain at Stamford Bridge but Chelsea’s profit looks very certain. They have tied him down with a contract running until 2030 and hence will demand a big amount for his signature.
