One man quickly started to trend on social media following a crazy first half between West Ham and Arsenal.
As they did in the fixture last season, Arsenal raced into a 4-0 lead courtesy of goals from Gabriel Magalhaes, Leandro Trossard, Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz before West Ham hit back with strikes from Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Emerson Palmieri.
But then Arsenal bagged a fifth after being awarded a second penalty. Bukayo Saka, having won the first spot-kick and handed it to Martin Odegaard, did the business from 12 yards.
Having beat Newcastle last Monday, West Ham looked an absolute mess with no real plan. And with pressure mounting on Julen Lopetegui, former boss David Moyes began to trend on X, formerly known as Twitter, as fans vented their frustrations over the decision to part company with him at the end of last season.
Moyes, who led West Ham to a European trophy when they won the UEFA Conference League in 2023, left for a second time when his contract expired as the Hammers looked to move in a new direction.
The feeling was that his style of play was not attractive enough, hence the appointment of former Wolves, Real Madrid and Sevilla boss Lopetegui.
But the football hasn't exactly improved and West Ham are currently 14th in the Premier League, the exact position where they finished under Moyes last season.
And plenty of supporters were quick to point out the lack of progress under Lopetegui, who hasn't set the world alight in English football.
One opined: "West Ham and their fans deserve every bit of pain they get, for getting above their station and hounding David Moyes out. How's the sexier football treating you lads?
A second commented: "The worse thing West Ham ever did was getting rid of David Moyes."
A third added: "West Ham are awful they might as well re-hire David Moyes."
Another agreed: "West Ham United did the worst thing possible when they sacked David Moyes."
