Saturday Internationals | Naz, Dennis and Spence in action

Jess Naz started back-to-back games for England as they were held to a goalless draw by the United States at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening.

Earning her fourth cap for the Lionesses, our number seven was named in Sarina Wiegman’s starting XI for just the second time after receiving her first start in the 2-1 win over South Africa last month.

In a hard-fought battle down the right-hand side with Casey Krueger, the 24-year-old completed 75 minutes before making way for Chloe Kelly while both sides failed to break the deadlock in front of over 78,000 supporters at Wembley Stadium.

Jess and the Lionesses are back in action on Tuesday (3 December) as they face Switzerland at Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane.

Elsewhere, Araya Dennis was a second half substitute for England Under-19s as they made it two wins out of two in their UEFA Under-19 European Qualifying group stage.

The 18-year-old, who started in the opening game against Turkey on Wednesday, was introduced in the 72nd minute and completed the final quarter of the match, helping the Young Lionesses to a 1-0 win over Italy.

Lauren Smith’s side will wrap up their international break when they face hosts Poland on Monday 3 December (12pm).

Drew Spence and Jamaica were also in action in the early hours of Saturday morning as they recorded a 3-0 win over South Africa in an international friendly.

The midfielder was named in the starting XI and went on to complete 84 minutes at Montego Bay Sports Complex after a first half strike from Siobhan Wilson and Khadija Shaw’s brace secured a three-goal advantage for the Reggae Girlz.

The 32-year-old could be involved once again on Tuesday morning when the two sides go head-to-head for a second time in the final game of their international window.
