Tottenham News speaking to John Wenham
Sat 30 November 2024 19:40, UK
John Wenham believes there is no chance of Tottenham bringing Leicester City midfielder Harry Winks back to the club.
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose has insisted that the midfielder’s “time at Tottenham is finished.”
As reported by Fichajes [17 November], Ange Postecoglou’s side want to bring Winks back to North London and are prepared to offer Leicester City £32million for the 28-year-old.
However, Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn’t believe this to be true at all.
“That rumour is complete nonsense,” Wenham said.
MORE SPURS STORIES
“Spurs were more than happy with the deal they secured which essentially got £10million off the fee for James Maddison by sending Winks the other way.
“He is doing well at Leicester, and I’m happy to see him getting some praise. However, his time at Tottenham is finished. That chapter is closed.”
Tottenham to bring Leicester City midfielder Harry Winks back to North London?
It would be quite a shock to see Winks return to Spurs, especially considering the loss it would represent for the club.
Postecoglou is clearly keen on signing a brand-new midfielder. However, Winks probably isn’t the answer to whatever the Australian feels the issue is in North London right now.

While he has done well in the Premier League with Leicester, there is a reason he was moved on. Therefore, Spurs should be aiming a bit higher when it comes to a potential transfer for a midfielder.
In other Tottenham news, the club are in the running to sign a Liverpool hero after a recent Postecoglou reveal.
