Jamie O’Hara believes Graham Potter is “waiting” to replace Julen Lopetegui as West Ham United boss following their 5-2 loss against Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.
Hammers fans left the London Stadium rather deflated after the performance their team put in against the Gunners on 30 November.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (30 November, 19:13pm), O’Hara and Jason Cundy shared their thoughts on the potential of Potter taking the reins from the Spaniard.
“[Potter] keeps turning down every job that he gets asked for so maybe he is waiting for the West Ham one,” O’Hara said.
To which Jason Cundy replied: “He’ll have a nice brand of football, we saw what he did at Brighton, his credentials are there in the Premier League.

“I know it didn’t work out for Chelsea but Chelsea at that time was a club in turmoil, he feels the obvious choice and I think West Ham is the size of football club that he’d be happy to take on.”
Graham Potter could be the saviour West Ham have been looking for
This season has been beyond poor for West Ham and Saturday’s (30 November) result against Arsenal is the icing on top of the cake.
Lopetegui has been under severe scrutiny since almost the start of the season, and it feels like, despite the team getting the odd miraculous win here and there, there’s still a lot left to be desired from their overall performances.
Some Hammers fans felt like they were underachieving with David Moyes at the helm last term by finishing in ninth, but looking back at it now, a lot of fans would likely welcome the Scotsman back with open arms… or maybe not.
West Ham United manager David Moyes
David Moyes will be remembered fondly by West Ham supporters.
Potter has turned down all the other jobs that have been offered to him, but due to the amount of quality West Ham have within their ranks and the fact that their ceiling is higher than just a top-10 team, a move could be music to the former Brighton manager’s ears.
Only time will tell what the future holds, but one thing is for sure, if Sullivan is taking owning a club seriously, he has to get rid of the Spaniard as soon as possible, even if he does supposedly have doubts about Potter.
In other West Ham news, one of Lopetegui’s biggest underachievers this season has been nominated for a prestigious FIFA award.
