Gabriel Magalhaes’ contract talks with Arsenal are now at a relatively advanced stage, according to a report.

Sports journalist Ollie reports on social media that a new deal for Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes is being sorted out, and it’s now at a “pretty advanced stage”.
Charles Watts reported in September that Arsenal had started the process of trying to extend Gabriel’s contract, opening talks over a new deal.
At that stage, Watts suggested negotiations were still at quite an early stage, but it seems they may have picked up now.

Gabriel was one of the first players in the current team to sign a contract extension, so he already has a deal lasting until 2027. But that means he’s now down to his final three years, and this seems like a good time to look at extending again.
The centre-back certainly seems to be enjoying his football, scoring his third goal of the season on Tuesday as well as proving invaluable to Arsenal from a defensive standpoint.
The 26-year-old was named in the PFA Team of the Year for 2023/24, calling his inclusion “a massive honour”, and his strong recent form has won him a place in Brazil’s starting lineup.

In early 2024, Gabriel often found himself on the bench for Brazil, if he was involved in the squad at all. But he’s played the full 90 minutes of all six of their fixtures in September, October, and November.
Arsenal will be keen to get Gabriel to commit his long-term future to the club once again, and if the rumours are to be believed, he may already be close to doing so.
