Jamie Redknapp compared West Ham star Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah during the 5-2 loss to Arsenal.

The former Manchester United man finished off a nice move with a great finish that Gunners keeper David Raya had no chance of saving.

It was the 30-year-old’s second goal in two games after he scored the second goal in the 2-0 victory against Newcastle on Monday (25 November).

Redknapp was impressed by the right-back’s recent exploits, jokingly comparing him to Liverpool superstar Salah, saying live on Sky Sports [30 November]: “That’s a great ball, perfect timing.

He’s turned into Wan-Bi Salah, not Wan-Bissaka, two-in-two now, he finishes that really well.”

The former Red Devil is known for his excellent one-on-one defending and tackling ability but he has been brilliant at the other end of the pitch recently.

Both goals against Newcastle and Arsenal were great finishes from the former Crystal Palace defender.

Manager Julen Lopetegui is under huge pressure with the club reportedly sounding out replacements in case results do not pick up.

The right-back is doing his best to keep the Spaniard in the dugout. He is the Hammers’ joint-fourth highest contributor of goals in the Premier League, behind Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Tomas Soucek.

The club might have a chance to improve their standing in the league, which is currently 14th, in the coming weeks with matches against Leicester, Wolves, Bournemouth, Brighton and Southampton.

If Wan-Bissaka continues his goalscoring run then he might just save his manager’s job.

In other West Ham news, one stalwart could be set for a London Stadium exit in the coming weeks.
