Harvey Elliott will be hoping for a prominent role in Liverpool's Premier League clash against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon. Elliott has appeared in the last two matchday squads after suffering an ankle injury in early September, though he is yet to actually feature.
In his absence, the Reds have won 14 out of 16 games in all competitions with Elliott back in the picture for the 3-2 comeback victory against Southampton and the European triumph over Real Madrid. As a result of those, Arne Slot's side were able to remain top of the Premier League and Champions League tables.
While Elliott has returned to give Slot a boost, Trent Alexander-Arnold suffered an issue recently with fellow defender Ibrahima Konate picking up an injury late into the game against Madrid which is expected to keep him out for up to six weeks.

Alexander-Arnold was back on the bench earlier this week however, though Joe Gomez was brought on over him following the withdrawal of Conor Bradley because of a knock. Slot therefore, seemingly faces a dilemma at right-back with a midfield decision also awaiting the Liverpool boss.
Ryan Gravenberch is expected to feature but only two of Curtis Jones, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai will be able to join him in the centre of the park. Elliott will also be vying for a spot in those positions with the 21-year-old sending a clear message on social media.
Via Instagram stories he reposted Liverpool's post about Mac Allister after he scored the equaliser against City in last season's clash at Anfield.

Elliott is captured in the thick of the celebrations and he will be hoping that is again the case against Pep Guardiola's side where a win will take Liverpool nine points clear of their nearest challengers.
