Jesper Lindstrom is hoping to earn a permanent stay at Everton.
Lindstrom moved to Goodison Park on an initial season-long loan from Napoli which contains an option to buy understood to be around £19 million.
The Denmark international has become a regular fixture for Sean Dyche’s side season after making 10 appearances in all competitions to date.
And Lindstrom revealed that he is working towards convincing the Blues to take up his option after enjoying adjusting to life in the Premier League.
He said: “They have an option and I will do everything I can for them to buy me because I like it here.
“I like the training, I like the privacy, I like the life here, so hopefully they will buy me, but I have to show them that I’m good enough for them.
“It is a lot of money so I need to make some goals and I need to make some assists and this is what I’m fighting for.
“If at the end they don’t take the option then that is how it is, I will still have taken something out of it because I feel like I’m training hard and I’m learning a lot this year.
“I have done okay. Of course, I want to score goals and make assists. That is what I need at the moment but I am fighting for my spot.
“I am running a lot – helping the team defensively and offensively and trying my best. I am training good and think I’m showing I can play from the start.”
Prior to moving to Merseyside, the 24-year-old had been a long-term transfer target for Everton and admits that he was aware of their interest for a while.
“Everton were interested before I went to Napoli so always knew of the interest,” revealed Lindstrom.
“My agent said ‘Do you want to do it now?’ and I wanted to do it. There is a reason why Everton were interested not only because I had a bad year at Napoli.
“They knew what I did before that. They knew what they got and I knew the Premier League. Hopefully I can kick-start my career after a tough year.
“They always had conversations with my agent, so I knew for a while actually, but the timing was just not there and when it was I took it immediately.”
Everton will be aiming to end a four-game winless run against Manchester United on Sunday for Ruben Amorim’s first home league outing with the hosts.
But Lindstrom is not daunted by the prospect of stepping out at Old Trafford.
He added: “It will be the first time I have [a chance] to play in the stadium so it would be a big experience for me. But I often see every game as the same.
“If I have to play again Brentford, Leicester, United, Man City City. For me, it’s just a game because if you think too much about it, you’re just making yourself really nervous.
“I just see that we have to go there and fight for the three points, like we do every single game. I know we haven’t got the three points in a while, but we are fighting for it.
“We have one loss in eight games I think so we are trying our best. We need to score the goals, need to create the chances and do everything we can in our power to to get the three points there.”
