Manchester City and Liverpool players take to the field at Anfield on Pep Guardiola's side's last trip to face their old rivals

Manchester City will return to action at Anfield when they take on Liverpool in a bid to turn their poor run of results around.

Pep Guardiola's side are desperate for a victory, having gone six games in all competitions without a win. The Blues have lost their last three games in the Premier League.

They looked set to win their Champions League clash with Feyenoord earlier this week after leading 3-0 but would have to settle for a point, drawing 3-3. Eight points separates the teams heading into Sunday's clash, with Liverpool losing just once in 12 games so far.

Arne Slot's side could move 11 points clear of the reigning champions by the end of the weekend. Speaking during his pre-match press conference, Guardiola said: "Always has been the toughest [to face Liverpool].

"Has been Arsenal, now is Liverpool. When you're nine, ten years, always is difficult.

"I take it like normal. I'm thinking what I can do to the players to help, in a long career you live the situations.

"We lost five and drew one, should have won yes. It happens, don't think much about the situation.

"Go to the principles, if you live it accept it. No blaming, no running from responsibilities.

"I want it. Here as a club you have to win, if you don't win you are in trouble, what we have done the last eight years I have people who rely on me to do it. It isn't normal in the big clubs to do what we've done.

Pep Guardiola instructs his team during Manchester City's draw with Feyenoord in the Champions League

"I want to stay, the moment I feel not positive I will go. But I want the opportunity to rebuild the team in many aspects until the end of the season.

"I know what we have to do, knowing in the moment our consistency we don't have it." Here, MEN Sport brings you all the information on how to follow the crunch Premier League clash.
