Chelsea want Cristiano Ronaldo

Chelsea are reportedly ready to battle Manchester United for the signature of Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal teammate Geovany Quenda. As reported by Caught Offside via The Hard Tackle, Enzo Maresca's side are looking to beat a host of clubs for the Sporting CP youngster.

Besides Chelsea, the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United are all believed to be keen on the 17-year-old. Capable of playing either as a right wing-back or right winger, Quenda has been a revelation for Sporting CP this season.

Sporting CP are reportedly unsure whether they will be able to keep their prized asset following Ruben Amorim's departure in November. He is understood to be keen on reuniting with Quenda at Manchester United.

Liverpool have also been heavily linked with the youngster, who has a €100 million release clause in his Sporting deal. However, Chelsea are reportedly ready to make the first move and are readying a £60 million offer.

Quenda surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo's record in October to become the youngest player to score a league goal for Sporting in a 3-0 win over Famalicao. He was 17 years, five months, and 27 days at the time.

Chelsea's Cole Palmer opens up on Cristiano Ronaldo-like training

Chelsea attacking midfielder Cole Palmer opened up on comparisons with Manchester United and Real Madrid great Cristiano Ronaldo for his relentless training regime. The 22-year-old has become a star player for the Blues since joining them from Manchester City in 2023 in a reported £42.5 million deal.

Palmer has amassed 32 goals and 20 assists in 59 appearances across competitions for the Stamford Bridge outfit. The England international is also a hard trainer and has drawn comparisons with Ronaldo for his exceptional dedication to training.

In Ronaldo's early days as a player at Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson had to get involved to stop the Portuguese from training and preserve his energy for games. Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has also followed the tactics with Palmer.

On being asked regarding this by Blues legend Gianfranco Zola, Palmer was quoted as saying by The Mirror:

"Yeah, if Maresca lets me! It’s too much sometimes. [I would stay all day] if I crould."

Cristiano Ronaldo's dedication to fitness and keep improving himself has seen him become one of the greatest players of all time. Even at 39, he is still going strong having recently scored the 915th goal of his illustrious career.
