“Battering most teams” – Levi Colwill says he would be scared to play against Chelsea right now

Chelsea defender Levi Colwill says that he would be scared to play against this current Chelsea team right now and they are battering most teams.

The Blues academy graduate has been speaking ahead of today’s game against Aston Villa in the Premier League, and it sounds like he and his team mates are now full of confidence ahead of the game and the rest of the season coming up.

Colwill has been handed an integral role this season under new head coach Enzo Maresca, and it sounds like he’s got nothing but love and praise for his new boss, crediting him fully for Chelsea’s clear improvements this season.

There is a long way to go yet of course, but the progress is certainly there and clear for all to see right now, and Colwill has been clear why that is.

“It’s due to the manager,” Colwill said on the improvements this season as quoted via The Daily Mirror. “He’s come in and given us that confidence. He’s set us up amazingly and we’re going into games and, it’s fair to say, we’re battering most teams.

“We’re playing really good football. People are not looking at us with a question mark anymore. They know we’re gonna play good football and try to win games. That is what we have been doing so far this season.

“I would be scared to play against us. The way we break teams down and create so many chances on goal is amazing. It’s no shock.

“When you are playing really good football, teams are going to change to try and hurt you. We just have to keep adapting to it, keep playing our football and keep winning games.”

“The gaffer has given me that trust, for me to play my best football on the pitch, and I have got no excuses. Obviously playing with Wes, Benoit, Cucurella, Reece when he’s fit, it’s been amazing because they are all top top players.”
