Report: How Benoit Badiashile feels about staying at Chelsea after receiving approaches from several clubs

Benoit Badiashile has been on the fringes at Chelsea this season, making just one start in the Premier League.

That start came against Leicester City last Saturday in a 2-1 win, and Benoit Badiashile was excellent on the afternoon.

It showed what he can bring to this Chelsea team, but Enzo Maresca has settled on Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana as his centre-back partnership.

With Badiashile reduced to a bit-part role, his future in west London has come into question.

Clubs make approach for Benoit Badiashile

Last month, it was reported that AC Milan were thinking about signing Badiashile in the January transfer window.

It remains to be seen whether Milan have made an approach for Badiashile yet, but Foot Mercato has claimed that several clubs have already “knocked on his door”.

However, according to the French outlet, the 23-year-old is fully focused on Chelsea and has not even imagined leaving Stamford Bridge.

Badiashile will now be hoping to make his second Premier League start of the season when Chelsea take on Aston Villa this afternoon.

Chelsea’s Benoit Badiashile stance

Chelsea are not light in central defence so could probably afford to let Badiashile leave the club in the new year.

Colwill, Fofana, Tosin Adarabioyo, Axel Disasi and Renato Veiga can all play at centre-back.

Even so, Chelsea are reluctant to let Badiashile go in the January transfer window. If he is to remain at the club beyond this season, though, then Maresca is going to have to give him more opportunities in the Premier League.

The France international is unlikely to remain content with his current role, especially when other clubs are showing an interest in him.

It is a long campaign and Fofana has had a lot of injury issues since joining Chelsea from Leicester City back in 2022. Considering that, Badiashile could get a chance in the first team a bit later in the campaign.
