Manchester United set to launch €35m bid for Chelsea top transfer target: Reports
Manchester United are set to launch a €35 million bid for Chelsea's top transfer target Patrick Dorgu. The Leece left-back could be the prize of a three-way battle between the English giants and Italian outfit Napoli, who have shown strong interest in his services.
Chelsea's interest in Dorgu is well documented, with the Blues actively seeking out young talents. A report from CaughtOffside claims that they are impressed with the Danish left-back, as they recognize his remarkable potential. Chelsea are also reportedly leading the race to sign him.
However, they will have to be cautious about other contenders. According to transfer expert Gerardo Fasano (via AreaNapoli.it), Napoli are working hard to sign Patrick Dorgu, and manager Antonio Conte has spoken with the young defender. The Italian giants are not the only club in Chelsea's way, though, with Manchester United also in the race.
According to Fasano, the Red Devils have been instructed by new head coach Ruben Amorim to make a move for Dorgu. The transfer expert revealed that the Portuguese boss is looking for a new left-back for his system at Old Trafford, and he believes Dorgu will fit in brilliantly. Manchester United are expected to bid up to €35 million in January to sign him.
Dorgu burst into the limelight last season after breaking into Leece's first team. He has continued his rise this season, scoring three goals in 12 Serie A games.
Chelsea look to beat Manchester United to youngster signing: Reports
Chelsea are working towards snatching a deal out of Manchester United's hands, with the Red Devils looking to sign Sporting CP teenager Geovany Quenda. Patrick Dorgu isn't the only player who has piqued the interest of both English giants, with the two clubs also focused on Quenda.
The 17-year-old broke into the first team under Ruben Amorim, while the Portuguese coach was still at Sporting. However, since moving to Old Trafford, Amorim has turned his sights towards his former team, according to CaughtOffside.
Quenda has already played 20 games this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists. Amorim would like to bring the right-wing back's quality to Manchester United. However, Chelsea have taken notice of the 17-year-old as well.
The Blues are reportedly actively working hard to sign the highly-talented teenager. However, it could be difficult to convince Quenda to set aside a potential reunion with his former boss at Old Trafford for a move to Stamford Bridge.
