Gabriel Magalhaes fires new two-word message amid Arsenal injury concern after Mikel Arteta update

Gabriel Magalhaes' substitution at half-time caused some injury concern amongst fans during Arsenal's 5-2 win over West Ham in the Premier League.

The in-form centre-back scored Arsenal's opening goal inside ten minutes after heading home a Bukayo Saka corner. Mikel Arteta's side then went to score four more while the hosts pulled two back in an eventful first half.

Gabriel, however, didn't come out for the second half and was replaced by Jakub Kiwior. The defender also had to be withdrawn during the 5-1 Champions League win over Sporting CP in Lisbon earlier this week.

After the game, Arteta was asked whether he'd suffered a reoccurrence of an injury. "It was related to the previous injury that he had in Lisbon," he revealed.

"Obviously he did great to be part of that but with that result and with the niggle that he's feeling, we decided to take him off."

Taking to Instagram, Gabriel shared a series of pictures of himself during the game. One of which was of him celebrating and he simply wrote: "Thanks God," followed by a love heart.

There was no mention of an injury however, suggesting he could have been taken off as a precaution.

Riccardo Calafiori and Bukayo Saka were also taken off in the second half and Arteta confirmed there was no issues with the England international. "He's fine. He's fine. No problem," the Gunners boss said.

On Calafiori, he added: "Ricci, he's been with little niggles in the last few weeks. Obviously he had a very serious knee injury and he's doing really well, but we have to manage his minutes and today we have to do the same."
