Sean Dyche and Everton need to prove BBC pundit Fara Williams right after she said the club have the “knowhow” in order to retain their Premier League status this season.

Indeed, one of the Toffees’ main problem areas this season has been with their strikers not scoring enough goals, but with both Youssef Chermiti and Armando Broja now on the cusp of returning to full fitness again, their fortunes could well be turned around.

The Albania international has already featured for the Under-21s this week, but he was hooked off the pitch before the end of the game, with some believing that this is because the Chelsea loanee could be set to make his senior debut for the club against Manchester United.

The two sides are set to face one another in the Premier League on 1 December with the game being a potential turning point in the season for both outfits.

Speaking to the BBC Sport website (29 November), Williams shared her thoughts on the situation Everton currently finds themselves in.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

“When I look at Everton, I do not see them having that talisman, that player that is going to get you the goals, but as a team, they have a knowhow in the Premier League,” she said.

“That is so important when you are fighting at the bottom. That is what Everton collectively as a team and boss Sean Dyche know how to do.”

Why the Everton v Manchester United game is important

The 2024/25 season has been a rather topsy-turvy one for the Toffees this season, with the club going through a fairly mixed bag of results across the campaign.

There have been times in the season when fans have been more than impressed with the performance of their team, but more often than not, they’ve been calling for the head of Dyche due to Everton’s underperformance.

Going into the game on 1 December, it’ll be Ruben Amorim’s first league game at Old Trafford and the Red Devils will no doubt come out all guns blazing.

If Everton can leave Old Trafford with even just a point to their name, it’ll be a decent effort from all those involved and could fill their fans with hope and show that their team has what it takes to ensure Premier League survival this season.

Only time will tell what the future holds for the Merseyside outfit, but as long as they stay defensively solid, as they have done in a fair few of their games already this season, things should go swimmingly.

But if Dyche and the Toffees are to prove the do, indeed, have the “knowhow” they have to show that immediately, starting at Old Trafford today.

In other Everton news, a moment in their Under-18s game against Liverpool on Saturday has left Joe Thomas flabbergasted.
