Matheus Franca and Trevoh Chalobah send messages to Daniel Munoz after Crystal Palace 1-1…

Daniel Munoz went from zero to hero on Saturday as Crystal Palace fought back to record a 1-1 draw against Newcastle.

The £8.5m man missed a golden opportunity to put us 1-0 up in the opening 45 minutes after a brilliant cross from Ismaila Sarr – slicing the ball wide with his weaker left foot as an empty goalmouth stared him in the face.

However, the Colombia international rose highest to nod in a stunning cross from Marc Guehi in the 94th minute to secure a precious point for Crystal Palace and Oliver Glasner – who raced over to join in the celebrations in front of the Holmesdale Road end.

After the game – when writing on Instagram – Matheus Franca and Trevoh Chalobah sent messages to Daniel Munoz.

What Trevoh Chalobah and Matheus Franca wrote to Daniel Munoz

The South American is clearly a popular man at Selhurst Park – as many congratulated him on Instagram.

Chalobah delved in Munoz’s native tongue to praise him in Spanish, writing “vamossss” in the comments section – which translates to let’s go.

Franca also congratulated the Colombian in a different language, sending “papi” as if to call the Crystal Palace No.12 the “daddy” of Selhurst Park right now.

Mark Bright also responded, writing “well done Daniel” while Eberechi Eze posted a heart emoji too.

Furthermore, Chris Richards and Bournemouth No.17 Luis Sinisterra also praised Munoz, with Eddie Nketiah liking the post as well.

Daniel Munoz provides huge moment for Crystal Palace

The Magpies didn’t even muster up a shot on target on Saturday – with Guehi obviously netting Newcastle’s goal for them.

Therefore, a 1-0 defeat to a side who didn’t even test Dean Henderson themselves would have been a real gut-punch, and undoubtedly would have sapped the group of confidence.

However, Munoz not only clawed back a point for us, but also seemed to reinvigorate a side who looked set to spend another weekend in the Premier League relegation zone – we are now out of the bottom three on goal difference.

Hopefully, Glasner can use this moment as a springboard to embark on a successful December.
