Hayley Raso was on the scoresheet for Australia, but it wasn’t enough to help her country to victory as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Brazil in an international friendly on Sunday morning.
With the Matildas visiting Hayley’s hometown, Gold Coast, the forward marked the special occasion with a goal as she converted Caitlin Foord’s low cross from close range to halve the deficit before the break.
However, two first half strikes from Gabi Portilho and Lauren Leal was enough for Brazil to secure their second win over the Matildas in the space of four days, having beaten them 3-1 in Brisbane last Thursday.
