It's Manchester United vs Everton in the Premier League today
Everton will look to return to winning ways in the Premier League today when they travel to Manchester United (1.30pm kick-off). It is a big game for both teams.
For United, it represents new manager Ruben Amorim's first home league match in charge. The Portuguese oversaw a 1-1 draw at Ipswich Town last Sunday before he marked his first outing at Old Trafford with a 3-2 Europa League win over Bodo Glimt on Thursday.
For Everton, it represents a chance to jolt some excitement into a season that is beginning to test the patience of supporters. While the Blues have only lost once in their last eight league games, taking 11 points from a possible 24 in that time, they have failed to score in their last three matches.
And what is giving cause for concern is the fact that the trip to take on United is followed by clashes against Liverpool (home), Arsenal (away), Chelsea (home) and Manchester City (away) up until Boxing Day. Given the gap to the bottom three is just two points, Sean Dyche's side do need to start picking up wins to go along with their numerous draws.
But you have to go back to December 2013 for the last time Everton won at Old Trafford and while their opponents are hardly pulling up any tree themselves - they sit just five points and two places further the table - then an improved performance will be needed this afternoon.
Will the travelling Blues get one? Our reporters Joe Thomas and Chris Beesley will be at the game to bring you all the action, starting with pre-match build-up and team news when it drops at 12.15pm, followed by live updates from the game itself, and then the best post-match reaction and analysis.
