Report: Everton and Tottenham send scouts to watch teenager who plays just like N'Golo Kante

Everton are languishing towards the bottom of the Premier League table ahead of the January transfer window.

Everton reside in 15th, just two points above 18th-placed Wolves heading into the busy festive period.

That’s put Sean Dyche under major pressure and the Friedkin Group are already drawing up a list of candidates to replace him.

Former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is now being linked to Everton and it seems there’s a real chance he could succeed Dyche.

Anyhow, whilst those talks commence behind the scenes, the recruitment team are hard at work identifying targets with the winter window just weeks away.

It’s just come to light that Everton have sent scouts to watch a talented teenage midfielder.

The 19-year-old is enjoying a productive season in Ligue 1 and has drawn comparisons to French legend N’Golo Kante, as per Foot Mercato.

That’s put a number of clubs on red alert including Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen.

There is also strong interest in Atangana from the Premier League, with Tottenham, Aston Villa, Manchester United, Liverpool and Brentford all keeping tabs.

So if Everton were to land his signature, it’d be regarded as a major coup.

Everton need an Idrissa Gueye replacement

Idrissa Gueye has been a stalwart in Dyche’s side but he looks set to leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires.

Qatari side Al-Duhail SC are interested in signing Gueye so Everton evidently need to have a successor lined up.

And, Atangana could just be that man, so it’d be worth getting him in this winter to allow him time to adapt in the Premier League.
