Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo is making significant progress in his recovery from injury, and his much-anticipated return is drawing nearer.
In fact, according to a recent report by MARCA, the Uruguayan centre-back participated in Barcelona’s training session this morning, marking another important step in his comeback.
It is to be noted that while Barcelona’s players were no doubt still feeling the disappointment of their defeat to Las Palmas last night, Araujo became the clear focus during this training session.
Focus on Araujo
The outlet mentions that over the past few days, the defender had been involved in lighter exercises alongside his teammates, but today, he fully rejoined the group for the first time, pushing himself further with an increased workload.
The signs are very promising, with his recovery progressing well, and the mood around his return is positive.

Although a specific date for his return to the pitch has not yet been set, it is clear that Araujo is very close to being ready and could feature against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League.
Barcelona’s coaching staff, under Hansi Flick, are understandably cautious when it comes to reintegrating players following injury, as they want to avoid any setbacks.
It has been a while
Araujo’s absence has been long, and the club is not willing to rush him back prematurely. Nevertheless, the club is confident that he will soon be fit enough to feature in matches again.
Araujo sustained the injury on July 7 while playing for Uruguay in the Copa America, and after undergoing surgery in July to repair a hamstring tendon injury in his right thigh, his expected recovery time was around four months.
With this timeline, it is expected that Araujo will make his return by mid-December, just as planned. Fans are eagerly awaiting his return, as his presence in the defence will be a much-needed boost for Barcelona.
