This Sunday afternoon, the 1st of December, Spurs will take to the field, as they host fellow London side Fulham. Kick off for this one is the lesser spotted 13:30 GMT kick off. The 2-0 win at home to Chelsea, another West London side, instantly springs to mind when thinking of this stranger kick off time.
Nevertheless, Spurs were looking to bounce back from the disappointment of the draw with AS Roma on Thursday night, after a last minute equaliser took Spurs from third to ninth in the league phase, putting a lot of importance on the game at Rangers next time out.
Ange has made four changes to the line up from that night, opting for a line up of; Forster; Porro, Dragusin, Davies, Udogie; Sarr, Bissouma, Maddison; Johnson, Son, Werner.
Dominic Solanke does not make the match day squad. He did look shattered towards the end of the Roma game. Dejan Kulusevski is amongst the substitutes. It will take a big effort without those two in the XI.
As for Fulham, manager Marco Silva has gone for the following XI, in order to try and travel back to West London with all three points; Leno; Tete, Diop, Bassey, Robinson; Berge, Lukic; Iwobi, Smith-Rowe, Nelson; Jimenez.
So far in his career, Jimenez has scored four goals and provided a further assist in 10 games against Spurs in the Premier League. He also won five of those games.
With a win here, Spurs could go up to fifth in the Premier League table. Which is petrifying to think of, considering we know what Spurs tend to do when they have the opportunity to make serious ground in the standings.
It is well documented that Tottenham like to, for some reason, follow up a great result with a really bad one. Let’s hope that the Roma game counts as the really bad result here.
The win over Manchester United at Old Trafford in September is the only time Spurs have won in the Premier League after a midweek Europa League game. In fact, they have lost the other three games. Two of those were against Ipswich Town and Crystal Palace, who have not won any other games this season, and the other at Brighton and Hove Albion, when 2-0 up at half-time.
There is no doubt that Fulham are a top side, and that this will be a tough game - but Spurs must get all three points if they are to show that they are a serious side. An unserious side drops points at home to Fulham eight days after winning 4-0 against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
