Man Utd at risk of losing two key players for Arsenal clash due to Premier League rule

Manchester United are at risk of losing two key players for their clash against Arsenal in midweek.

United take on Everton on Sunday, with Ruben Amorim hoping to follow his Europa League victory on Thursday with his first Premier League win, since succeeding Erik ten Hag as manager.

However, Lisando Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo are both at risk of missing United’s midweek games against the Gunners should they be cautioned against Everton.

The duo are both on four Premier League yellow cards this term, with a fifth meaning an automatic one game suspension.

Going toe to toe with Arsenal without the pair will be a tough ask. Mikel Arteta’s men claimed an emphatic 5-2 victory over West Ham United on Saturday night and suffered no fresh setbacks of their own.

Amorim made six changes from United's Europa League win for the game against Everton. Both Mainoo and Martinez start for United against Everton, while struggling summer signing Joshua Zirkzee has returned to the side.

United's team is as follows:

Onana, Mazraoui, De Ligt, Martinez, Fernandes, Rashford, Zirkzee, Amad, Casemiro, Dalot; Mainoo.

Subs: Bayindir, Maguire, Malacia, Shaw, Mount, Ugarte, Antony, Garnacho; Hojlund.
