Montero is one of five previously untested youth team players who have been called up for Sunday’s upcoming match against Lecce.

His father is former Juventus and Uruguay defender Paolo Montero, who spent nine seasons in the Bianconeri first team, as well as another four years with Atalanta before that. He has most recently been the head coach of the Juventus Next Gen team until his dismissal in November.

Also among the Juventus squad for the Lecce match are first team regulars Weah, Thuram and Conceicao.

Weah’s father, George, remains the only player from Africa to win the Ballon d’Or, which came in 1995 during his time with Milan.

The Thuram family needs no introduction to Serie A enthusiasts, as father Lilian spent 10 years in Italy with Parma and Juventus. Khephren Thuram is now a mainstay in Thiago Motta’s midfield, while his brother Marcus is currently the division’s second highest goalscorer with nine league goals for Inter this term.

Summer signing Conceicao also has a father who previously spent time in Serie A. Sergio Conceicao, most recently the head coach of Porto, had two stints with Lazio in the 1990s and 2000s, and also represented Parma and Inter at the beginning of the millennium.
