Everton will take on Manchester United in the Premier League without Armando Broja, which has come as no surprise for Joe Thomas.

The Toffees are set to take on the Red Devils at Old Trafford on 1 December, with Beto starting up front for Sean Dyche’s team instead of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

One name completely missing is that of Broja, who featured for the young Blues as they lost 4-2 to Nottingham Forest in Premier League 2 on 29 November.

The Albanian has been out injured for most of the season but has slowly returned to the pitch and played 72 minutes for Everton’s Under-21s on Friday, and taking to X [1 December], Thomas revealed that the 23-year-old looked stiff when coming off.

“Not surprised to see Broja absent from the Everton squad today. Worked hard for the U21s on Friday but looked stiff when he came off.

“Still a lot to do to get to match fitness, though he will likely be in the squad before then to start his integration.”

Everton can’t wait for Armando Broja comeback

Everton can’t wait for Broja to make his first appearance for the senior side after making his move from Chelsea to Goodison in the summer.

Due to the forward’s fitness issues, Dyche hasn’t been able to call upon the striker yet, and the English manager surely can’t wait for his comeback.

Calvert-Lewin has been the starting number nine for the Toffees for most of the season, but the 27-year-old has been missing his shooting boots in the current campaign, scoring just two goals in 12 appearances.

Dyche has made a bold decision to drop the England international to the bench against Man United, with Beto not necessarily living up to expectations either at the Merseyside outfit.

The Blues are hovering just above the relegation zone and have a tough month ahead in December, facing the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea in the league.

Dyche needs to ensure that Everton pick up points despite their challenges, and the Goodison faithful will want to see Broja on the pitch sooner rather than later as the Blues look for a solution up front.
