"There are many ways to lead, many ways to do it," Casemiro said in his big exclusive interview with United Review, the official programme for the Everton clash this weekend.
"I didn't know Malacia had spoken about that. I didn't really think about it, it just happened. Attitude, being an example, leading, is not just about talking.
"But it's true and I gave him my medal. He hadn't played any games that season, so he didn't want to go up to get his medal.
"I took him up and there wasn't one for him, so I gave him mine.
"He is part of the squad and we count on him. While he was out for that season, he is loved and we need him, and he needs love too."
