Sky Sports viewers left bemused as Chelsea vs Aston Villa kicks off without sound and commentary

Supporters watching the Chelsea vs Aston Villa clash on television were left without commentary for four minutes at the start of the Premier League clash.

The big match, first on Super Sunday on Sky Sports, was left without any commentary as the broadcasting giant suffered with "technical difficulties".

The picture initially cut out as the match got under way, but only for a few seconds as the picture came back but without sound. Presenter David Jones, at Anfield, had to take over to explain that Sky Sports were suffering with technical difficulties, bringing Micah Richards into the conversation.

Jones did threaten some commentary from the studio pundits, but that was not forthcoming. Viewers could still watch the match, but without the commentary from Bill Leslie and co-commentator Alan Smith.

Supporters will be hoping there are not any more problems as the day goes on with league leaders Liverpool to take on Manchester City in a huge clash at Anfield at 4.30pm. It is a huge clash of two Premier League titans that Sky Sports will be hoping is not beset by more technical difficulties.

Peter Drury will be the commentator for that game and he is likely to be joined on the gantry by Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher.

Chelsea took the lead soon after the sound came back on, with Nicolas Jackson slotting home from a Marc Cucurella ball. It is the Senegalese's eighth Premier League goal of an impressive season.

The Blues can go second in the table if they win by more than three goals and they have made a great start in an attempt to do just that. You can follow all the action llive right here.
