Sky Sports respond to Chelsea vs Aston Villa TV issue after commentary technical fault

For the opening few minutes of Chelsea's Premier League clash against Aston Villa, there was no commentary. Sky Sports host Dave Jones had introduced lead commentator Bill Leslie but the audio feed soon cut out with Sky Sports forced to return to those in the studio.

Upon cutting back to the three pundits at Anfield, Jones said: "Well unfortunately we have a few technical and audio issues which you can hear at Stamford Bridge or not hear more to the point. So you are left with us, this could be interesting, commentary from Anfield on Chelsea against Aston Villa.

"You always ask for more time to talk about football so this is our time, Micah." Following that, an awkward chat with Jones, Daniel Sturridge, Micah Richards and Roy Keane occurred with the pundits discussing the early stages.

After three minutes of chat in the Sky Sports studio, Jones said: "Disappointingly, it seems like our errors are fixed at Stamford Bridge. Take you back to Alan Smith and Bill Leslie." Thankfully, nothing of note actually happened with Ezri Konsa very nearly giving away possession in a dangerous area but the referee blew for a foul.

Just a few minutes later however, the first goal arrived with Nicolas Jackson continuing his excellent form as he touched home Marc Cucurella's cross. A lengthy VAR check took place but those at Stockley Park eventually agreed with the decision made on the pitch.
