Van Nistelrooy was appointed as Leicester’s new manager on Friday and after watching on from the stands on Saturday, has officially taken charge of the Foxes.
Leicester were back in training less than 24 hours after the Foxes’ heavy defeat to Brentford as they prepare for West Ham United on Tuesday 3 December.
The club posted images from Van Nistelrooy’s first training session on the club’s wesbite and social media.

Several first team stars missing from Van Nistelrooy’s first Leicester session
It was no surprise to see that most of the players involved in the game at Brentford were not involved in Van Nistelrooy’s first session today.
Barring those who had brief cameo roles like Stephy Mavididi, Sunday would’ve been a recovery day for those first-team stars.
Youngster Will Alves featured heavily in the clips while other faces such as Victor Kristiansen, Bilal El Khannouss and others included in the matchday squad who didn’t play at the GTech Community Stadium were put through their paces under the new regime.

Ruud van Nistelrooy wants Leicester to have possession-based focus
One of the key things to note from Leicester’s first training session under Van Nistelrooy was a huge emphasis on possession.
Under Steve Cooper, the Foxes had a much more pragmatic approach as they looked to defend deeper and counter with the ball whereas under Van Nistelrooy, a style closer to what Enzo Maresca implemented should be expected.
Its early stages and it won’t be an overnight success but it looked as if the Foxes were moving the ball a lot quicker, with players looking comfortable as Van Nistelrooy remained vocal throughout the session.
The Dutchman is known for having a hands-on approach and that was evident as he regular communicated to the players, providing them with instructions and taking on the coaching role himself.
