Leon Osman has savaged Everton striker Beto for his effort in the first half against Manchester United.
The Toffees are playing United at Old Trafford on Sunday, 1 December, and can be pleased with their efforts after the first 45 minutes.
However, Beto had a good chance to score early in the half but his left-footed effort was badly mishit and the ball found its way into the stands.
Speaking on the Premier League World feed on 1 December at pm, Osman said: “Beto could’ve played it in but he chose to go for goal himself. A dreadful effort for him.”

Beto’s missed opportunity can be attributed to a lack of match fitness rather than a lack of skill or poor decision-making.

His attempt to score, however awkward, highlights the rustiness that comes with limited game time.
Lack of match sharpness often leads to misjudgements in execution, like Beto’s mishit.
However, Sean Dyche might look at this incident with some optimism and will be encouraged with the Portuguese striker’s willingness to have a go.
Beto’s positioning to receive the ball in a scoring position is a positive sign as it shows that his instincts and game awareness are intact.

What the 26-year-old needs now is regular minutes to regain his match sharpness, allowing his technical ability and finishing to catch up with his positioning and he still will get a chance or two in the second period to score.
